San Juan County Sheriff And Deputies Will Face Criminal Charges

The sheriff of San Juan County, Utah, is scheduled to appear in court July 25th on charges related to an incident in which he allegedly pointed an unloaded rifle at an employee in 2014 and pulled the trigger. Sheriff Rick Eldredge, Chief Deputy Alan Freestone, and Deputy Robert Wilcox all face a number of charges filed by the Utah Attorney General’s Office related to the incident. The San Juan Record reports that prosecutors are seeking a change of venue in the case. The men have remained on active duty.
