Navajo Technical University has been awarded a $3.5 million grant from the National Science Foundation to build a Center for Advanced Manufacturing. The new Center’s emphasis will be on 3D modeling and simulation, polymer and metal additive manufacturing, and materials testing and characterization. Navajo Technical University was awarded a $1 million grant by the U.S. Department of Commerce with matching funds of $1.5 million from the Navajo Nation to build the center, which hopes to generate 500 high-tech, high wage jobs. Construction of the Center is expected to begin in the spring of 2019.
