Montezuma County Commissioners May Have Sidestepped Colorado Law By Closing Public Meeting

On Monday, March 13th, Montezuma County Commissioners moved to enter executive session-- clearing the meeting room of the public--without clearly explaining the reasons for doing so.  Colorado Open Meeting Laws (CRS 24-6-402) requirelocal governing bodies' meetings to be open to the public except under specific circumstances.  KSJD’s Austin Cope and Gail Binkly discuss the issue further.

Gail Binkly is a career journalist who has worked for the Colorado Springs Gazette and Cortez Journal, and was the editor of the Four Corners Free Press, based in Cortez.
