Montezuma-Cortez High School Memoralizes Popular Educator Ray Harriman

Montezuma Cortez High School Facebook Page

On Tuesday, students and teachers at Montezuma-Cortez High School honored the late social studies and history teacher, Ray Harriman, by planting an aspen tree in his memory. Social studies teacher Chris Kelley, who helped organize the tree-planting ceremony, says several hundred students attended. Harriman’s colleagues discussed his love for the outdoors, teaching, and coaching. The tree was donated by the Four Corners Child Advocacy Center, and was planted on school grounds. Harriman died last summer after suffering sudden heart failure.
