May 8th Elections in Montezuma County: Cortez Fire Protection District, Mancos Conservation District

Austin Cope

Tuesday is Election Day in special districts across Colorado. In Montezuma County, the Mancos Conservation District will be wrapping up a mail-ballot election on the question of whether to approve the district’s first-ever mill levy, for a half mill. The Cortez Fire Protection District is also holding a polling-place election to decide which of six candidates will fill three open seats on the district’s board. Voting will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the county annex, 107 North Chestnut in Cortez. A mail-ballot election asking for a mill levy for the High Desert Conservation District, which includes the western part of Montezuma County, has been cancelled.
