Environmental Group Puts Up Billboard On Highways 160 and 491 Calling Out Rep. Scott Tipton

Western Values Project

An environmental group based in Montana has put up a billboard south of Cortez calling on Congressman Scott Tipton, a Republican representing the Third Congressional District, to “keep your promise to protect our land.” The billboard, located near the junction of highways 491 and 160, urges citizens to call Tipton’s Pueblo office. Western Values Project Deputy Director Jayson O’Neill tells KSJD his group is concerned about Tipton’s stance on legislation that would codify changes to Bears Ears National Monument and weaken the Antiquities Act. No one with Tipton’s office could be reached for comment.
