Mar 8, 2017

Spring always brings wind to the Four Corners, but from Sunday night through Monday morning there were some exceptional gusts.

The National Weather Service in Grand Junction reports that Colorado’s San Juan Mountains recorded blasts of more than 100 miles per hour as a cold front moved through eastern Utah and western Colorado. A gust of 119 miles per hour was registered at Eagle Mountain and 107 miles per hour at the Senator Beck Mine, both in Ouray County. The Telluride Airport hit 78 and Cortez’s airport peaked at 44.
