San Juan County, Utah is appealing a federal judge’s ruling vacating all eight offices of the County Commission and School Board. The San Juan Record reports the county has requested that only those terms ending in 2018 be put on the ballot in November. They argue that due process would be denied if office holders removed by the judge cannot finish their terms.  The county filed a request on January 19th to allow two commissioners and three school board members to finish their terms in 2020, leaving only three of eight seats contested in November. The County requested their appeal be expedited to accommodate filing deadlines.
