The incumbent president of the Shiprock Chapter of the Navajo Nation will have a chance to seek a second term.

The Farmington Daily-Times reports that Duane "Chili" Yazzie garnered nearly 38 percent of the vote to finish first in Tuesday’s primary. Also qualifying for the general-election race was Dan Smith, who finished second with 23 percent. Three other candidates did not make the November ballot.
