Vehicle Access to McPhee Restricted at Sage Hen, Dolores Cemetery

Vehicle access to some informal boat-launching sites at McPhee Reservoir has been restricted. The Dolores Water Conservancy and Bureau of Reclamation, which manage the reservoir, have temporarily restricted motorized access in the Sage Hen area and on the Dolores Cemetery Road in Montezuma County.  The restrictions are intended to stop motorized boats from launching onto the lake without being inspected for invasive mussels, which have already invaded Lake Powell. Hiking, cycling, horseback riding and ATVs are still allowed along the shoreline roads, and watercraft such as canoes, kayaks, rafts and paddle boards are permitted at the closed access points.
