Southwest Memorial Hospital Can Take Back Unused or Expired Medications

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has designated Southwest Memorial Hospital’s pharmacy as a “take-back” location for unused and expired  household medications.

The hospital is currently the only designated take-back location in Montezuma and Dolores counties. The department says dropping off unused medications reduces the risk of drug abuse and creates less environmental contamination than flushing them down the toilet or throwing them away.
