UPDATE, 6/26/17, 11:55am: The Forest Service statescrews will continue to actively monitor the 412 fire, which was started by a lightning strike. They will allow it to burn heavy dead and down fuels to improve forest health. Smoke will be visible from Highway 145 at times. Because the fire is at a higher elevation and many of the fuels are still wet, fire officials are not concerned about a rapid spread. Crews will continue to patrol the area as long as the fire burns.
