Congressman Scott Tipton, who represents Colorado’s Third District, is questioning the accuracy of an analysis of a health bill passed by the House.
On Wednesday, the Congressional Budget Office released its analysis of the American Health Care Act, which is intended to repeal and replace the current system known as Obamacare. The analysis predicts that some 14 million Americans would lose insurance coverage next year and 23 million over 10 years under the new act. But in a statement, Tipton said the Budget Office “has a long history of making inaccurate predictions” about the current system. Tipton was greeted by protesters angry about his support of the new health bill when he came to visit with the Montezuma County commissioners on May 8th. Colorado Senator Michael Bennet opposes the new bill, and Senator Cory Gardner is on a committee working on a Senate version of the legislation.
