Salt Lake Tribune Argues for Transparency in Utah's 3rd District Congressional Election

On Thursday, the Utah State Records Committee sided with the Salt Lake Tribune newspaper in an open-records decision. At issue was whether the Utah Attorney General’s office should release an opinion on Utah Governor Gary Herbert’s controversial decision to unilaterally set rules for the Republican primary election to replace 3rd District Congressman Jason Chaffetz. Chaffetz represented citizens in towns like Blanding, Monticello, and Bluff before he stepped down at the end of June.
