Montezuma County Resident Asks For Second Noise Study Near Kinder Morgan Pumping Station

CO2  producer Kinder Morgan has agreed to pay for an independent study to measure noise levels at its pumping station along Montezuma County Road BB.

Nearby resident Tom Hayden, who has health problems he says are exacerbated by the racket, had previously brought the issue to the county, and Kinder Morgan had agreed to some mitigation, including an in-house study and the erection of  a  barrier. Planning director LeeAnn Milligan, who inspected the site, told the county commissioners Monday the planning department has done “backflips” to help Hayden. However, he maintained the noisy fans had been cut back during her visit. The commissioners told Milligan to look into a second noise study.
