Montezuma County Landfill Hopes to Sell Still-Useful Items with "Up-Cycle" Store

That item you threw out during spring cleaning may find a new home when it gets to the Montezuma County landfill.

On Monday, landfill manager Shak Powers told the county commissioners he hopes to open an “upcycle” store this spring. The outlet would allow people to buy discarded lawn mowers, bicycles, furniture and other items that are still usable but may have been dumped during divorces or redecorating efforts. He said he is getting the necessary paperwork completed and hopes to have the store going within a month or so.
