McAfee, Rosenbaugh, Candelaria Will Challenge Lambert's Montezuma Commission Seat

Austin Cope

The race for the only open seat on the Montezuma County Commission this year is shaping up to be quite competitive. On Friday, M.B. McAfee of Lewis announced she is running as a Democratic challenger in District 1, the office currently held by Republican James Lambert of Pleasant View. McAfee, a longtime observer of the commission, is the first woman to run for the board since 2004. Lambert has said he will seek re-election, but two other Republicans are battling him for their party’s nomination. Charlie Rosenbaugh is the former county coroner and Jim Candelaria is a builder.
