Local Cage Fighters Reflect on What They've Learned From Their Sport

Saturday, June 10th will bring a diverse set of events to southwestern Colorado. The Dolores River Festival, the Ute Mountain Roundup Rodeo, and King of the Cage: Warlords 2 will all occur within a 50-mile radius.

KSJD will live stream the Dolores River Festival, and has interviewed bull riders from the Ute Mountain Roundup Rodeo. To add to the mix, KSJD's Austin Cope sat down with local competitors at the King of the Cage competition at the Ute Mountain Casino.

Cage fighters Joey and Tabitha Trevino own the Impulse MMA gym in Cortez. Joey will make his professional debut in the men’s Jr. Flyweight (125 lb.) category, and Tabitha will compete in the women's atomweight (105 lb.) category at the King of the Cage competition on Saturday.  During their interview, Austin asked about what cage fighting actually is, why they do it, and what they've learned from it.
