The Jefferson County Open School in Lakewood, Colorado provides alternatives to conventional schooling that strive toward creating lifelong learners. KSJD's Tom Yoder talks with Jacob Sliemers, an instructor and advisor at Jefferson County Open School, and students Josh Garcia, William Wallace, David Rogers, and Bryn Roberts, who just returned from an experiential learning expedition into the remote canyons of the Navajo Nation in Arizona, about how learning is different at their school, and their experiences with the culture and archaeology of the Navajo backcountry.
