Drivers in Cortez will see improved intersections and traffic lights by August. The Colorado Department of Transportation says that they will make improvements to 10 different intersections along Highway 160, including the intersections of County Road G, 7th Street, Maple Street, Chestnut Street, Market Street, Ash Street, Harrison Street, Mildred Road, Sligo Street, and Highway 145. The $1 million project will replace traffic signal heads, re-stripe traffic lanes, and install concrete traffic signal pads. Impacts to traffic flow will include single lane closures and four-way stops at work intersections from 6am to 6pm on weekdays. For questions about the project, contact the CDOT Public Information Team at 970-426-5356 or email us160@PublicInfoTeam.com.
