How Planned Parenthood Approaches Reproductive Health in Rural Areas

Mar 3, 2017

Last year, about 500 patients visited the Planned Parenthood clinic in Cortez. According to Planned Parenthood Chief Experience Officer Adrienne Mansanares, women's reproductive healthcare in rural areas like Cortez can be difficult because of the long distances women have to travel to get there. Also, she says in most cases, those services are not abortions.

As Chief Experience Officer, Mansanares is in charge of ensuring that patients and staff receive a positive experience when using any of Planned Parenthood’s services. KSJD's Austin Cope talked with her to talk more about Planned Parenthood’s place in rural communities and in the United States in general.
