Final Fate of Durango's "Arc of History" Sculpture Remains Uncertain

The much-denounced, recently-vandalized sculpture at the intersection of U.S. highways 550 and 160 in Durango is to be removed sometime after Labor Day, when traffic eases up.

The Durango Herald reports the city’s Public Art Commission met Tuesday but did not decide yet what to do with the “Arc of History” after it is taken out. Options include auctioning it or recycling or reusing the stone and metal components.
