A center offering residential drug and alcohol treatment in Durango moved a step closer to reality Tuesday.

The Durango Herald reports the city’s planning commission gave final approval to plans for the Durango Recovery Center near Goeglein Gulch Road. The center reportedly will open on January 1st with beds for eight clients, who would be able to stay two months. The goal is for the center to eventually serve up to 20.
