Dolores RE-4A School Board Recall Petitioners Continue Efforts

Dolores School District

Recall petitions for two members of the Dolores Re-4A School District Board have been found insufficient, but organizers have time to try to fix the problem. On Monday, Montezuma County Clerk Kim Percell told the county commissioners that each of the petitions had more than the 335 signatures required, but many signatures weren’t valid. The recall attempts are for board president Dee Prock and member Vangi McCoy. Percell said circulators have 15 days to gather more signatures. If those pass muster, it’s possible there could be two separate recall elections. Percell said Prock has indicated she may file a protest over the validity of the recall effort. If she does and McCoy does not, McCoy’s recall question would be decided concurrent with the June 26 primary while Prock’s would be later.
