Sailors with the USS Mesa Verde will travel to Mesa Verde National Park on August 25th to support the centennial birthday celebration of the National Park Service.
According to a release, the eight-member contingent from the Virginia-based amphibious dock landing ship will take part in a number of activities, including a project to repair the Spruce Canyon Trail. While in the Four Corners they will also visit Shiprock High School in New Mexico and its Marine Corps Junior ROTC unit.
