Sixty people marched a mile along Cortez’s Main Street on Saturday afternoon to promote unity and healing in the wake of the contentious presidential election.

Organizer Molly Cooper of Dolores stressed that the event was not a protest, but an effort to stand against hate and in favor of a unified community. Citizens carrying signs such as “Love Over Fear” and “Diversity is America’s Greatness” walked from City Park to downtown and back. Cooper said most responses from drivers and passers-by were positive.
