The Montezuma County commissioners have appointed Cortez farmer Don Schwindt to serve on the Southwestern Water Conservation District Board.
He replaces John Porter, who has represented the county since 1990 and was board president. The commissioners praised Porter but said Schwindt would be “a fresh face”.
