Cortez City Council Member Tim Miller Dies After Illness

Austin Cope

Cortez City Councilman Tim Miller has passed away. Mayor Karen Sheek tells KSJD that Miller died at his home this week following an illness. Miller, a retired electrician, was elected to the council in 2016. Sheek says he will be missed, adding, “He was really nice to work with.” She says he was quiet but passionate about certain issues and “really dedicated to moving the city forward.” Miller’s wife, Jo, died earlier this year. Sheek says the council will discuss how and when to fill Miller’s seat at its next meeting, January 9th.
