The state of Colorado will adhere to the Paris climate treaty, despite President Trump’s rejection of that 2015 global accord. On Tuesday, Governor John Hickenlooper issued an executive order committing the state to slashing greenhouse-gas emissions by at least 26 percent by 2025, the standard called for in the historic Paris agreement. Hickenlooper also said Colorado will join a nationwide climate alliance working for cleaner energy. The alliance includes New York, California and some 10 other states, as well as numerous municipalities and businesses.
