Bluff Decides to Become a Town, and Blanding Says No to Alcohol Sales

Austin Cope

Resident of Bluff, Utah, have opted to incorporate as a town, voting by a nearly 3 to 1 margin Tuesday in favor of the measure. The town limits will be 38.5 square miles, the large size intended to prevent occurrences such as the recent sale of a parcel of state trust land on Comb Ridge to developers. In another municipal ballot question in San Juan County, Blanding voters chose to keep their city dry, with a 573 to 299 vote against allowing the sale of alcohol.
