A Ten Commandments monument in Bloomfield, New Mexico will move to a local church after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled to remove it from public property.
The Farmington Daily Times reports the monument has been in front of Bloomfield’s City Hall since 2011. But after two townspeople and the ACLU filed suit, a district court ruled that it violated a section of the First Amendment. The U.S. Supreme Court upheld that court’s ruling in October. The First Baptist Church of Bloomfield will now display the monument on its property near the center of town.
