Author Kevin Fedarko Reflects on the Wildness, Complexity, and Beauty of the Grand Canyon

The Dolores River Boating Advocates are hosting a presentation by author Kevin Fedarko at their permit party on Friday, January 19th at 6pm. Fedarko says he has a deep love for the Grand Canyon, sparked by his time working as an apprentice river guide for six summers. He has since authored the book The Emerald Mile, which tells the story of the fastest Grand Canyon river trip in history. Below are two parts of his conversation with KSJD's Austin Cope. The first interview discusses how he was introduced to the Grand Canyon and how he approaches his writing, and the second tells the story of his recent 13-month-long trip on foot through the canyon's bottom.
